Rates
Square Inch Price
I charge 3 cents per square inch for all edge to edge designs.
Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .03 = $144.
My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.
Batting
I use and stock Quilters Dream batting in the 80/20 cotton/poly blend, Warm and White cotton batting.
Both are queen size rolls measuring 93" wide.
Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.
I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch.
For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 65" of the batting of your choice.
65" of 100% Warm & White cotton @ $0.48/in = $31.20 + tax
65" of Quilters Dream 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.44/in = $28.60 + tax
Thread
Thread is included in your square inch price.
I use OMNI #40 weight threads. I carry a variety of colors to blend with quilt tops or to bring a pop of color to your quilt. My personal style attempts to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.
Shipping
Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in Indiana, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.
Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.
Other Costs
As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price. I'm required by the State of Indiana to collect a 7% sales tax on the quilting service portion of an invoice. The 7% tax only applies only to the batting being purchased and not the quilting.
Prep
What size should my backing be?
Here's an easy way to remember: Four-for-four! :) I require the backing to be 4" extra ON ALL SIDES. For example, if you have a quilt top that is 60" x 80", your backing should measure at least 68" x 88". It can be bigger, not smaller. Extra fees may apply if I need to put extra time and effort into getting your quilt ready to load. If you have questions, please ask. I'm passionate about being able to give you results you will love. Teamwork! :)
TIDY IT UP!
Please press your top and backing for me so that it's nice and tidy and ready for me to load. Please also clip stray threads or raveling fabrics as best as you can. You might not be able to get them all, but to prevent dark threads from shadowing through your quilt top, please don't skip this important step!
QUILTING CHOICE:
I want this to be fun for you and not overwhelming! You have the option of having me make the quilting decisions for you.

After the work is complete, I will invoice you via WAVE. I really do appreciate timely payments as that enables me to mail your quilt back to you right away.
